Baito Bambesta
The place
A small wooden baito beautifully restored by the Associazione sportiva Cauriol after three years of work and thanks to the commitment of around thirty volunteers. A postcard-perfect location, at 1,633 m on the edge of a clearing in a magnificent conifer forest of the Bambesta, in the Lagorai range (Trentino). Remarkable facilities: a large table, a wood-burning stove, shelves stocked with pots and dishes, a well-supplied woodpile, electric lighting powered by an outdoor solar panel. No sleeping places: overnight stays are not permitted, the baito serves solely as a daytime stop for picnicking and weather shelter. Panoramic view towards Cima Canzenàgol, Busa Alta and the Cardinal to the south; to the north, the pale walls of the Latemar close the horizon. For an overnight stay, head to the Baito Slavaci higher up at 1,955 m, where bivouacking is allowed.
