The place
Pastoral baita at 1219 m below the Col Ranzola (2170 m), a historic pass linking Brusson to Gressoney-Saint-Jean (Aosta Valley). The area around the pass includes a small chapel used as a shelter, a statue of the Virgin, and a plaque commemorating the passage of the Russian writer Leo Tolstoy. Trail 7 (Col Ranzola Trail) crosses this historic balcony between the two valleys. A good base for loops towards the Punta Regina and the Cima della Garda from Estoul.
