The place
The Bacówka PTTK Pod Małą Rawką is a small Polish refuge (bacówka) run by the PTTK, located at 930 m altitude at the foot of Mała Rawka in Bieszczady National Park (Poland). 900 m from the main Bieszczady road, on the green trail linking Przełęcz Wyżniańska to Mała Rawka. Construction began in 1976, delayed by two very harsh winters, and it opened on 29 November 1979, based on an idea by Edward Moskała. It is the 2nd bacówka built in the Bieszczady and the 8th in Poland. 30 places in rooms for 2, 3 or more people, plus mattresses on the floor. Toilets, showers, dining room with terrace, buffet (hot meals, coffee, drinks, sweets). Open year-round. Access in 25 minutes from Przełęcz Wyżniańska via the red trails, or about 1h30 from Ustrzyki Górne.
