Baccu de Notre Dame des Potiers
The place
Fontaine de la Jourmaine 1 km away. Parking for the Sentier du Guêpier above Etrepigney. Guêpier: a person outside the Bons Cousins Charbonniers brotherhood. Reconstruction of a baccu by a local cultural association, open to the public in a spirit of heritage discovery. Baccu: temporary dwelling of the charcoal-burning woodcutter. The baccu is built of laid timber, its gaps between the poles filled with moss or clay. Its roof was formerly made of oak shingles, then of locally made mechanical tiles. The single room was furnished with a rustic table with its benches, a stove, and a mattress stuffed with grass, leaves, or ferns.
