The place

Kammi (semi-underground cabin of Sámi tradition) managed by Metsähallitus in the Pulju wilderness area, Enontekiö municipality in Finnish Lapland, near Lemmenjoki National Park. Located about 300 m west of the reindeer fence, on the east bank of the Avisuoja, a hundred metres or so from the stream. Freely accessible shelter, no booking, for 1 to 2 nights. Sleeps around 4 people, stove (kamina) with no outdoor fireplace or gas equipment; adjoining woodshed and dry toilet. First-come-first-served use, typical of Finnish autiotupas.
