Aurora Day Trip Hut

The place

Free day hut (päivätupa) and event space on the marked Aurora trail near Saariselkä (Inari municipality, Finnish Lapland), in Urho Kekkonen National Park. A twin building built in 2016 by Metsähallitus with a large terrace and an event space of about 100 m² for programs ranging from aurora viewing to group gatherings. The "päivätupa" side is open access for a stop by walkers, cyclists, or skiers; the event side can host a seasonal café or rental services via a concessionaire. The trail passes by the hut; several fire pits in the yard. Aurora Trail: a loop of more than 2 km through Lapland nature, starting from the national park's new monumental entrance gate at Saariselkä. No overnight stays planned (day hut).
