The place

Self-catering hut (Selbstversorgerhütte) of the DAV Oberland section at 970 m on the Reitbühel, north of Stans in the Karwendel (Tyrol, Austria). Reserved exclusively for members of the Munich and Oberland sections. Booking is for the entire hut only, capacity of 4 people. Located on a sunny slope south of the Inn valley, ideal as a family base for hiking, mountaineering, snowshoeing or simply relaxing. Next to the neighbouring Reitbichlhütte. Reached in 1h30 through the Wolfsklamm gorge, narrow and varied with wooden stairs and bridges (a pleasant nature experience). Excellent base for the peaks towards the Lamsenjoch (3 to 5 hours climbing). Close to the Benedictine abbey of Saint-Georgenberg, 320 m to the south-west.
