Argaladhytta
The place
Historic DNT mountain lodge in the Skaitidalen valley (Junkerdal National Park, northern Norway), by a basin of the Skaitielva river in birch forest. Two buildings: **the Gammelhytta from 1912**, log-built with an earthen floor and rustic comfort; and the Sikringshytta from 2010, modernised. Total capacity of 8 beds (4 + 4). Wood-stove heating, gas cooking, solar panels on the newer building. Access: marked trails from Balvasshytta (north) or Trygvebu (8 km to the south); parking at Fredheim or Trygvebu. Winter: local knowledge required (avalanche risk). Open year-round. Self-service category. Fishing, swimming, dogs allowed in the Gammelhytta. DNT key required for the Sikringshytta — the Gammelhytta is accessible without a key.
