Апшинець
The place
"Апшинець" (Apshynets) refers to the alpine lake and eponymous ridge in the Svydovets massif of the Ukrainian Carpathians. Lake Apshynets is one of the highest alpine lakes in the Carpathians, at 1487 m elevation (the database's 892 m is likely erroneous), and small (1.2 ha, 124 m long, 100 m wide, 3.3 m maximum depth). Access from the "Yasinya" education base (7 km from the village of Chorna Tysa) via the Tatul polonyna, then the Tatulsky Grunt towards the Svydovets ridge. Alternative access from the Dragobrat ski resort. A peaceful, little-visited spot, ideal for solitude in nature. The water stays cold year-round (below 12°C even in summer). The listing may refer either to the lake itself or to a nearby shelter/polonyna whose details are unconfirmed.
