The place
Alpine bivouac in ergonomic metal, perched at 2654 m near the Passo Confinale, on the border between the Valmalenco (Lombardy, province of Sondrio, Italy) and the Swiss Val Poschiavo. Built in memory of Angelo Anghileri and Giuseppe Rusconi. Remarkable equipment for a high-altitude bivouac: 8 beds with mattresses, pillows and blankets, a table and stools, a well-equipped kitchen corner with a gas stove, pots and several coffee makers. Classic access: park at the Campo Moro and Campo Gera lake car parks, cross the dam of the Campo Gera hydroelectric reservoir, climb to the Rifugio Bignami, continue to the Alpe Gembrè and finally climb up to the pass and the bivouac — about 650 m of total elevation gain and 1h40 of ascent from the Rifugio Bignami. An exceptional setting in the Rhaetian Alps below the Cima di Caspoggio and the Pizzo Scalino, on the edge of the Parco delle Orobie Valtellinesi.

Campo Moro/Campo Gera car park, dam crossing, Rifugio Bignami, Alpe Gembrè then Passo Confinale (~1h40, +650 m).
