Ancienne bergerie des Cornaches

The place

Former sheepfold at 1781 m in the Beaufortain (Savoie), next to an active sheepfold. Emergency shelter where the shepherd sometimes stores equipment: packed earth floor, wide openings in the gable ends, very basic shelter. Noted "just in case", only useful if the active sheepfold is full, damaged, or in unforeseen circumstances. A more substantial hut, the Cabane des Cornaches (1810 m), is nearby.
