Refuge de Montendry: A Cosy Shelter in the Heart of Nature The Refuge de Montendry, nestled in a magnificent natural setting, offers a warm shelter for adventurers seeking peace and quiet. With capacity for 5 beds and 8 mattress spaces, this rustic shelter is ideal for a mountain getaway. Amenities and Comfort 5 metal beds and 8 mattresses arranged in a cosy space. Basic furniture: table, benches, chairs and an armchair. Practical equipment: wood for the stove, a generous woodpile, shovels and brooms available. For sanitation: a small outhouse 50m from the refuge, to the south-south-east, in very good condition. Useful Information The refuge was renovated in 2019 to improve accommodation conditions. Mobile network: decent reception (2 or 3 bars - Orange) inside the shelter. Access and Hiking Routes: via Saint Alban in 1h30, via Montendry in 2h, or less by car via the forest road close to the shelter (under 10 minutes), or via Les Granges in 2h (steep path). Warning: the ridge between the shelter and the Col du Petit Cucheron (1228m) has a few steep sections. Dates and Bookings Open: from early June to late September.
