Anchorage Hut

The place

Great Walk hut managed by the Department of Conservation (DOC) on the Abel Tasman Coast Track, Abel Tasman National Park (Nelson/Tasman, Motueka sector, South Island, New Zealand), at 22 metres altitude on the shore of Anchorage Bay. 34 bunks. No gas for cooking or lighting: bring your own stove and fuel. Rates per person per night: high season (October-April) NZD 55 New Zealand adults / NZD 84 international; shoulder season NZD 42; low season (July-August) NZD 33; children 5-17 years old 50% of the adult rate, younger free. Access in about 4 hours from the Marahau trailhead or 3-4 hours from Bark Bay Hut depending on tides; water taxi service available. Booking mandatory via the DOC platform. Backcountry Hut Pass and tickets not accepted.
