The place
Unstaffed refuge at 1,255 m in the municipality of Gambarogno, in the Lugano Prealps of Ticino. Inaugurated in 1997, made up of two masonry buildings with metal roofs. 10 sleeping places in a clearing surrounded by trees, with an exceptional view over Lake Maggiore. Open year-round except from 31 October to 1 May.

Getting there
From the Scaiano car park (331 m), a very steep marked trail. The final section between Monti di Caviano and the refuge is particularly slippery in wet weather.
