The place
Refuge associated with the Monte Aloia Nature Park, the first nature park in Galicia (designated in 1978), located in the municipality of Tui in Pontevedra at 246 m altitude. Monte Aloia rises to 700 m and offers five viewpoints over the Rio Miño. The park is crossed by the PR-G2 Aloia trail (9 km) leading to the Refugio Miguel Regueira in the Sierra de O Galiñeiro. A good base for hiking through the exotic vegetation of the Baixo Miño (cypress, fir, and Lebanon cedars planted a century ago). A visitor center is housed in the home of Rafael Areses (1921).
