The place
Staffed Swiss Alpine Club hut at 2,542 m above the Furka pass, on the border between Uri and Valais. Founded in 1918. Sixty-four sleeping places in season, eight places in the winter room. Room for about sixty people at busy times. Staffed most of the year. The Nepali-Highway and Lochberglücke routes are not recommended when residual snow patches are present. Regular events: "Freitags-Schmaus" (Friday feast), Jass card game evenings on Tuesdays, New Year's festivities by reservation.
