The place

Free open cabin (autiotupa) with 6 places — a former cowshed restored — at the heart of Hossa National Park (Suomussalmi, Kainuu, Finland), at the northern end of Lake Ala-Valkeainen, on the Kokalmus Loop hiking and mountain biking circuit. One of the park's five autiotupas. Managed by Metsähallitus, open to all and unlocked: usable for one or two nights without booking. Facilities: sleeping areas, table, benches, kitchen utensils, stove, dry latrine, firewood with saw and axe.
