Standard DOC hut with 6 bunks at 828 m in Ahuriri Conservation Park, Mackenzie Country (Canterbury, NZ). Built in 1958 by the NZ Forest Service. Wood burner. Accessible by 4×4 vehicle (the valley road may be washed out or impassable in winter). No booking: Standard ticket or Backcountry Hut Pass (adults $10, youth $5, under-4s free; new rates from 1 July 2026).
