Ackerlhütte: An Austrian Mountain Hut The Ackerlhütte is a mountain hut belonging to the Kitzbühel section of the Austrian Alpine Association, located in the Wilder Kaiser massif. Perched at an altitude of 1455 metres (according to various sources: 1456 metres or 1465 metres), below the south faces of the Regalmspitze, the Ackerlspitze, and the Maukspitze, this hut was built between 1958 and 1959 and inaugurated on 18 October 1959. It is a self-catering hut with 14 beds, serving as a base for mountaineers and climbers. From June to September, the Ackerlhütte is at least supervised on weekends, otherwise it remains closed (accessible only with an Alpine Association key). Access From Hüttling/Prama (near Going) via Graspoint-Niederalm and the Schleierwasserfall waterfall in 2 hours. From Wochenbrunneralm via Gaudeamushütte and a high-level trail, also in 2 hours. From St. Johann in Tirol via the Adlerweg trail, then the Wilder-Kaiser-Steig, in 3 hours.
