Abrigo do Teixo (Yew Tree Shelter) in the Serra do Alvão/Marão, Vila Real/Mondim de Basto sector (Trás-os-Montes, Portugal), at 1176 m elevation. Traditional curral or capanha shelter used by shepherds in the Alvão natural park, in a landscape of heather and gorse moorland and granite boulders. Zone of relict yews (Taxus baccata, "teixo") and Atlantic birches, an ethnographic heritage of Trás-os-Montes.
