The place

Unstaffed Club Vosgien shelter at 401 m altitude in the Russ forest (Bruche valley, Bas-Rhin). Its German name "Teufelsloch" means "devil's hole" and refers to a nearby spring adorned with a devil sculpture, located further down the trail. The roof is in good condition, with logs stacked to the side and a saw available inside, allowing for emergency use in winter. Free access all year round, no booking required. A popular stop for loop hikes around Russ.
