The place
Shelter at 1290 m on the Margeride ridge (Lozère), next to a chapel, near the departmental boundary, 3.5 km north of Le Sauvage. On the GR 65, the Way of St James. Benches and table inside, spring nearby, drinking water and a dry toilet in the surrounding area. Good shelter from wind and rain for pilgrims and hikers; no heating, poorly ventilated room.

Features of the Shelter: Construction: Single-storey masonry building, no upper floor. Amenities: Fitted with a large picnic-style table with two built-in benches, it is a place for a well-earned break. Fireplace: Although modest in size and with a draw that is not very effective in strong winds, the fireplace offers a bit of comfort. Location: Located approximately 1750 m as the crow flies NNW of the hamlet of La Brousse, the shelter is accessible via a side path branching off the Nègre forest road heading south-east. Nearby: Natural Resources: Find water seeping in the hollow of the valley, about 200m to the east, and firewood available nearby for your essential needs. Manager: The shelter is managed by the Office National des Forêts (ONF).
