Abri Kindsbronn
The place
Shelter in the Northern Vosges (Bas-Rhin, Alsace), at the bottom of a small valley alongside a stream. In 1760, the counts of Hanau-Lichtenberg granted six Catholic families the right to build farms and work the land of the Kindsbronnerbächel over about 5 hectares; there were 3 houses, then 4 by the late 18th century, 18 inhabitants in 1805 and 25 in 1811. The first house going up the valley, last inhabited by the Muller family, was developed by the Club Vosgien de Reipertswiller; Christian and Caroline Klopfenstein lived there with their eleven children. When they left in 1934, the house became a Scout centre able to host 70 to 80 people, an activity that ceased in 1939.

Petite construction sommaire (un mur manquant), en forêt, avec un point d'eau à proximité immédiate mais sans latrines ni poêle/cheminée, et sans aucune place de couchage aménagée. Situé dans le Bas-Rhin, massif des Vosges (secteur Vosges du Nord), à proximité de La Petite Pierre/Niederbronn-les-Bains.
