Abri du Wolfsgrube
The place
Unguarded shelter at 672 m in the Hautes-Vosges (Haut-Rhin, Soultzbach-les-Bains/Wasserbourg area, Grand Est region). A building in good condition, with a sound roof and indoor benches; a clean concrete floor inside. Outside: an additional table and benches for meals in the open air. A notable feature: the Élisabeth Fuchs fountain sits directly opposite the hut — water available year-round. The hut is used as shelter from storms or rain in any season. Open access, open year-round. A typical Vosges forest setting: beech-fir woodland on the Alsatian slope, Club Vosgien trails linked to the GR 5 (Vosges crossing) and to the many huts of the Vosges network (Abri Boesch, Abri du Judenhut, etc.). A popular stop for how well kept it is and the fountain right nearby.
