The place

Shelter at 955 m in the Montagne Noire (Tarn, Massif Central) near Espinouze, Lacaune and the Montagne Noire. The original col shelter no longer exists; it is replaced by a large wooden shelter open on 3 sides but with a good roof, with a fourth stone wall including a fireplace for preparing hot meals sheltered from the rain. On the GR 7 and GR 36. Access from Mazamet via the D54 south then the D87 to the Col de Triby via Les Yèz.
