The place

Rustic Mountain Cabin Set in a picturesque location, this rustic stone shelter has a doorway with no door leaf. Despite its rudimentary feel, it holds a stove (untested) and four plastic chairs. Access From Mayres-Savel: follow a long track, then a trail heading north toward the Col du Sénépy. Just before reaching a junction at 1440 m, take the path that climbs quickly up to the shelter. From Prunières: follow a track then a trail leading to the head of the Combe de Prunières. At the 1215 m point, turn left past the Écurie Bernard hut and the Vallon de Claret, before reaching the junction at 1440 m. The shelter is a few metres above. Cost and Funding The cost of the Rustic Mountain Cabin is minimal. Funding: financed by private contributions. Availability Opening: available year-round. Booking: no booking required.
