The place
Unstaffed shelter set at 286 m in the heart of the Alsace vineyards, near the central Vosges (Bas-Rhin). Very accessible location — this is one of the Vosges shelters located on the wine-growing plain rather than at altitude. Basic open building, sometimes occupied by passers-by or local festivities. A short stop appreciated by hikers on the trails of the Alsace vineyards (notably the Route des Vins d'Alsace and Club Vosgien marked wine-growing trails). Exceptional setting: vine-covered hillsides, panorama over the Rhine plain and the Vosges, typical atmosphere of half-timbered Alsace villages. Overnight stays not recommended due to the frequent occupation of the place and its very open access. A day stop on the way between wine-growing villages.

Alsace vineyard trails, Club Vosgien waymarking. Very easy access on the plain. A day stop is recommended.
