Abri du Planay
The place
Planned sleeping places: 9. Mattress sleeping places: 9. Reopened, the interior matches the photos. A sign indicates that the shelter is provided by the Planay chalet owners' association. Building located directly opposite the [->73] (closed shelter), accessible and offering only a corridor leading to a small room with no window. The whole space is lined with wood, which makes it a (nearly...) cosy corner... well, let's not exaggerate! No furniture on site apart from 8 mattresses including one double mattress, so sleeping space for 9 people and that's it. Not much comfort, but you're dry, the space is sound, not damp, and you're sheltered from the weather! Despite a nearby trough, getting water is not the easiest, and the passing hiker is clearly not a priority over the alpine pasture's cows. You have to run the water and then collect it from the trough afterwards, not very practical... The [->9166] can sometimes be used to restock on water. Mobile network: none. Via the Golet de Doucy, just below the Dent des Portes, or via the Combe d'Ire on the other side. The Planay alpine pasture and its chalet are owned by the Planay owners' union committee.
