Abri du Pas de Vens

The place

Shelter listed on the IGN map, on the border with Italy. The hut is built of stone with a concrete roof. A single large room with broken windows and a door that doesn't close well. Enough to spend a night sheltered from wind and rain but not from the cold. Faces due west with superb morning light. Access from the Refuge de Vens (1h30), the Refuge Della Lauza, or the Ténibre lakes. The shelter is on the Italian side and is not (or barely) visible coming from the French side. It sits just past a pass.
