The place

Club Vosgien shelter at 1223 m on a ridge a few hundred metres north of the Col du Herrenberg (Hautes-Vosges). Functional circular fireplace, firewood available (decent stock in early winter), good insulation, broom. Raised rear entrance in case snowdrifts block the main entrance. About 3 sleeping spots (some very close to the hearth). Bring a sleeping bag, mat, food and water.
