The place
Simple wooden hut at 971 m near the Rocher du Neuntelstein (Central Vosges, Bas-Rhin), one of the highest rocks in Bas-Rhin, very well equipped for climbing. Possible to sleep upstairs, tables and benches inside and outside. Spring 5 minutes downhill, marked by a sign. Picnic area with tables, benches and a covered shelter nearby, near Rothlach. From the summit, fine views over the Mont Sainte-Odile forest massif, the Alsace plain, and on clear days the Black Forest and the Alps. Access via trails (a variant of the GR5 marked red-white) from the D130 between Welsbruch and Rothlach.
