The place

Unmanned shelter at 1230 m in the Chartreuse massif, near the Mont Rachais (Quichat 1046 m being the highest point), at the southern end of the massif, above Grenoble (Isère). Panorama of Grenoble, the Vercors, Belledonne and Chartreuse. Several hiking trails pass nearby, accessible from central Grenoble.
