Abri du Madres

The place

Old stone orri shelter at the summit of the Pic du Madres, the highest point in Aude at 2469 metres. The structure has lost its roof and only low walls remain; degraded bivouacking possible under a makeshift tarp, sometimes found on site, but the shelter is no longer functional. The summit offers a 360-degree panorama over the Eastern Pyrenees, the Capcir and the Conflent.
