The place

Unstaffed shelter at 2128 m on the lakes road climbing to the Lac de Cap de Long, in the Hautes-Pyrénées (Néouvielle Nature Reserve). Located practically right by the road in the final hairpin bends, slightly elevated. Mostly concrete construction, bunked sleeping platforms (some of the lower ones broken), a few foam mattresses, table and benches. Capacity for 8. No fireplace or stove. No water accessible in the immediate vicinity — a small stream below the road a few bends further down. Entrance door that closes poorly. Road access impossible in winter (lakes road closed).
