The place

- No water nearby, just a simple shelf, a good tin roof, that's it. This is a simple shelter, very useful in case of a storm, since the descent of the cabled section is very tricky and exposed in wet weather due to heavy foliage and a somewhat short cable; you've been warned; casual walkers should avoid it. Note that there is a path known as the Cornillon path which continues on the north face and ends at the place called "Km 40" on the N91, longer but easier. ... From the Rochetaillée car park (alt. 711m) on the N91, a path starts behind the Oisans tourist sign, it climbs well-marked in short switchbacks, around 1070m it crosses a rock band with the help of a good cable (marker post), continues above and when it reaches a shoulder around 1200m, leave the orange-red marked trail for another one heading due west, which leads straight to the shelter. Shelter used by forestry workers and/or hunters.
