The place

Shelter at 1450 m at the Col d'Arron, just before the final ascent to the summit of the Duffre, in the Baronnies (Drôme). Access from La Piarre, Valdrôme and Montmorin. Solid, dry building, picnic table nearby. Metal ladder to a mezzanine that can host 6 to 8 people on the floor, sheltered from rain but with one open side. No water in the immediate vicinity, fires prohibited as indicated by signs. In winter, watch out for windy nights with powder snow that can build up on the mezzanine under the roof.
