The place

Destroyed cabin, only a piece of roof remains (concrete slab). Very marshy ground inside the cabin. By Car: From the Col du Somport, descend the main road on the Spanish side and turn immediately left towards the Astún ski resort. 500m after the intersection, the cabin is below the road (20m below it) on the right. By Public Transport: Take the train to Oloron Sainte Marie station. Take the Oloron → Canfranc bus (Car Aquitaine, +33 0 800 64 40 47). Get off at the "Col du Somport - Douane" stop. Follow the route indicated above on foot.
