Abri des Granges du Perchet (Haut)

The place

Old, abandoned barn at 1180 m in the Bauges massif (Savoie), to be used strictly as an emergency shelter. Very dusty, little comfort, no insulation, possible draughts. Capacity for 4. Wood available nearby, but the two basins located about ten metres above are now dry, full of dead leaves — no water at either the upper or lower shelter. Access from Les Tours Saint-Jacques towards the Chalets de Gruffy.
