The place

Shepherd's hut at 2000 m in the Vanoise massif (Savoie). A single sleeping space where the shepherd stores his equipment. Shelter open to hikers, basic and spartan: a mattress, a table, a stove. The place name "Moendaz" has roots in Savoie, possibly derived from the Latin mandra ("herd").
