Abri de la Pépinière de Montaubert

The place

Near (300m) a remarkable tree marked on the IGN map as "la Grosse Perche", a three-hundred-year-old beech that has unfortunately died, its remains are still worth a detour. Between la Thuillière and the Acquenove farm, 1km south of the latter. From the GR7, cross the Acquenove stream, and the D428, then climb the Pépinière forest road within the Montaubert forest to a junction, take the left, then go 100m stone cottage, clean and renovated with a beautiful fireplace, door open probably ONF property within the Auberive state forest (Parc National de Forêts)
