Abri de la ferme du Rivet

The place

A redone roof, benches, a shelter closed off tightly on three sides, the front left open. On the ground, a thick layer of small stones keeps it clean. Room to sleep several people (though it stays open on one side). A spot for a fire (with wood accessible nearby), though it will mostly warm the crows, and I don't know whether its use is authorised. The view is open. A fountain right next to it that flows quite well. The easiest access is from the Pont-Chabert car park, at the mouth of the Ecouges canyon, via a wide track. It's also possible to arrive from the Ferme de Fessole. Owner: Conseil général de l'Isère. The Ferme du Rivet itself is closed to the public and locked. It is used by ONF rangers. A building of about 30 sqm, housing a former ox-shoeing workshop, has been renovated, well sheltered but open on one side. The ONF rangers told us it is possible to sleep there — it is open to the public.
