The place

Former livestock shelter at 1260 m at the far end of a clearing in the Bauges massif (Savoie). Typical Bauges wooden structure, sheet-metal roof, sturdy frame, bare earth floor. A very basic spot allowing at most a shelter from bad weather: no particular comfort, open on two sides, but a watertight roof. Not very visible, hidden by a rise in the ground and a tree. Access from the Chalet de la Revêche at 1225 m: continue across the hollow of the meadow northward, then bear left around 1240 m to go round a knoll and cover the last 20 m of elevation gain (about 150 m further, 40 m of ascent).
