The place

Unconventional shelter at 822 m in the Bauges massif (Haute-Savoie), consisting of a tall old wall more than 5 m high which almost entirely encloses on 3 sides a small shelter made of a simple half-roof of wood covered in corrugated sheet metal. Former sheepfold. Access from the Couvent car park, going up the forest track Chemin de Sainte-Catherine then following the signs for "la Boverie". Alternative access from Vieugy via the places called "l'Eau Vive" and "l'Enfer", a very poorly marked path (follow the orange forestry markers up to 850 m, then head due north).
