The place

Large open masonry-and-timber shelter containing 3 tables with their benches. It was rebuilt by the municipality in 2009 after the previous shelter burned down. - The barbecue has been removed and lighting a fire on site is now "officially" forbidden, as is camping there; this is signposted. - 2 tables and benches outside. - A fountain 600 metres away, heading east, follow the Chauffour forest road, marked with a "green disc" symbol. - Colbéry means "charcoal burners' mountain" (in Alsatian) From Schirmeck or Wackenbach Schirmeck – Wackenbach town hall 118 A Avenue de la Gare - 67130 Schirmeck Tel: 03 88 49 63 80 Shelter open to passing hikers
