The place

Shelter in the Bauges National Hunting and Wildlife Reserve, at 1602 m. Currently closed/locked: a sign reads "refuge and shelters closed". Outside the management period, you can sleep in very spartan conditions in the first building on the left, under the roof — no insulation, guaranteed draughts, the only protection is from rain and snow, sleeping on a few wooden planks. Captured spring at Orgeval nearby for water. Easiest access via the valley floor, 1h45 from Nant Fourchu. Motor vehicles, bivouacking and camping are forbidden in the reserve.
