The place
Small open shelter at the Col du Chantoiseau (918 m per external sources, 925 m per DB), a crossroads of paths in the Hautes-Vosges (commune of Riervescemont, Territoire de Belfort, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté). Built in 1990 by the Club Vosgien and the Territoire de Belfort county council. Allows a break in bad weather, with the option of warming up by cooking a meal. Two tables and two benches inside, plus an outdoor barbecue — all very sturdy. Access from Giromagny via the GR5 "red rectangle", heading towards the Wissgrut and the Ballon d'Alsace. Plancher-les-Mines is 9 km to the west.
