The place

Unstaffed shelter set at 932 m in the Hautes-Vosges massif, in the area of Soultzbach-les-Bains/Wasserbourg (Haut-Rhin), on the Vosges slope facing the Alsace plain. Basic freely accessible shelter, open year-round, offering cover from wind and rain. Minimal amenities: table and benches, sometimes a stove depending on upkeep. No drinking water on site; bring a sleeping bag for overnight stays. The shelter is part of the vast network of about 430 huts and shelters in the Vosges massif, many maintained by the Club Vosgien and local municipalities. Typical forest setting: beech-fir forests on the Vosges slope, trails linked to the GR 5 (crossing of the Vosges) and Club Vosgien themed trails.
