A bit of history
The Way of St James from Bavaria has existed since the Middle Ages. Pilgrims from Austria, Bohemia and Hungary used Munich as a waypoint on their journey to Santiago. The modern network of Bavarian St James routes was revived and waymarked in the 1990s.
Getting there
Munich: main railway station. Lindau: train station on Lake Constance (1h30 from Munich).

April to October. Summer is ideal. Spring brings fruit blossom in the foothills of the Alps.
