GR92

The place

This section of the Catalan GR-92 follows the Costa Brava coastal path (Camí de Ronda) from Portbou, on the French border, south to Palamós. The route threads cliff-top paths above hidden coves around Cap de Creus, crosses the flat Aiguamolls de l'Empordà wetlands, passes the Greco-Roman ruins at Empúries, and continues through pine-covered headlands toward Begur. It is waymarked with the standard red-and-white GR stripes and is moderately demanding, with repeated steep climbs and descents on the rockier cliff sections around Cadaqués and Begur.
