The place
The GR® 20 is as much dreamed of as it is earned. It is the flagship trail of the Corsican mountains. Often considered the most difficult long-distance hiking trail in France, if not in Europe, the GR® 20 has a pronounced alpine character. From Calenzana to Conca, hikers regularly climb to 2,000 metres in altitude, face elevation changes of more than 600 metres per stage, and negotiate tricky passages.
